Mike Adkins and Thank You for the Dove Cover. No, thank you Mike, for the opportunity to post this funny album cover. Relgious album cover? Im not sure.
That's my dad's first record from 1979. Yes, it's Christian music and the dove represents the Holy Spirit. I can see how it would be funny if it was just a dude holding a dove for no apparent reason though.
You might be interested to know, however, this album sold over 500,000 copies (Gold) w/ no label or distribution. And the song "Adoration" was #1 in Christian music for 14 months in 1981! For 25 years he's been in the ministry, traveling, speaking, and singing across 6 continents.
Hilariawesome, that his son Yosh goes around googling for this (as I did, but to find out why I had this super funny jpeg in my pictures folder). I want this story somehow to get weirder still, don't know if there's much anywhere else for it to go though. Maybe get your dad himself to post what he was thinking when he came up with this humorous album cover?
The cover is not humorous at all. The only thing wierd here is anyone thinking a Dove is funny. What have you been smoking? Or are you really that stupid?
Come on, "RMM" from "Indiana" ("Indianonymous", moar liek, amirite?):
LOOK at the expression on his face, the aimless, vaguely-directed titular Thank You (presumably to Gord above, but then what to DO with the dove?), *the holding of a dove in his hands*. I rate this grade A amusing. And reiterate the poster's sentiment of thanking YOU, Mike Adkins, for the laughs any time I need cheering up.
Mike Adkins is a true man of God! He is the real deal. God Bless him and his family!!! My son, Cole, who would have hour long seizures would stop seizing after I would sing Mike Adkins song, "Lord of All". Singing praise songs is spiritual warfare against the enemy, just look at Gideon in the Bible. Shame on all of you who would make fun a man honored so greatly by God! May God have mercy on you all! The great thing is ... he will, if you just ask ... and mean it!!!
I wonder if the dove shat in his hands.

I had no idea there were 14 months in 1981. What a year!

ReplyDeleteEvery man should be forced to do a "Thank You For the Dove" photo shoot.

ReplyDeleteInteresting how you include the words 'warfare' and 'enemy'. Tools of the trade, no doubt.
DeleteAnd how do you know Mike Adkins is 'honoured by God'? Where's your proof? Have you met God?
More religious claptrap from the misguided and the enslaved.
More's the pity...
