Will someone tell me please that Larz Kristerz Stuff Party cover is a joke? Please tell me they are just having us on. Just for giggles yes? No? Ok, this one goes into the disturbing category. And also into my top 10 worst and funniest album covers. Soon enough i might have to expand that to a Top 20 Funny Covers. Hair, sideburns, outfits, chest hair, colors...and i could go on.

Shit! How do people like this ever manage to get into a recording studio in the first place? They should be driven away with a sharp stick!
ReplyDeleteIt is a joke. ment to be funny!!
ReplyDelete70s Dance bands Scandinavian style, what a terror! They were everywhere!
ReplyDeleteThere were 100s of daft looking dance bands in Sweden and they all did records (mostly covers). You could see their albums sitting next to the candy at gas stations. Some bands obviously went a little too far silly wise, like there was some kind of stupid looking contest taking place, but looking silly was a part of the whole deal really; they wanted to entertain you big time like in the circus and that, of course, included the crazy uniform.
These guys are actually pretty good. They sound tight and the singer has a good voice.
ReplyDeletedo u know this iphone app where you take a picture of yourself and overlay all kinds of celebrity hairstyles onto your head? now i know where the programmers got the idea...
ReplyDeletedoes the guy on the top left have down syndrome?
ReplyDeleteThis is not only a real band, but they seem to stil be working regularly in Sweden. I had to have a look at the website to see what a stuff party was. It sounded like fun, but there was not explanation. They have had Stuff party 1, 2 and 3, though, so it MUST be good.
ReplyDeleteI clicked on the video link. The music is disappointingly bland. Middle of the road, 'show band' stuff. Broad appeal in pubs and clubs, I guess.
My favourite song was "Han hark opt en ny traktor" which shows the guys fooling around on, well, yes a tractor.
According to Wikipedia, "Hem till dig" famously stopped U2's No Line On the Horizon from reaching number 1, the only country where the album did not reach this position."
I might laugh at them, but they sound like they are raking it in.
And going to stuff parties.
PS the fat guy has gone bald and grown a Van Dyk. He does sing pretty well, too.
ReplyDeleteAnd once again...it's a joke! Its ment to be a spoof of the Swedish 70's dance band style. The style that "kenmatorama" and others so distinctly describes in earlier posts. And where the spelling of the bands names with (z) instead of (s) is a special part. And as other posts also have pointed out the band actually plays decent music in the Swedish dance band style. The genre still has it's fans, that loves the music-and Larz-Kristerz...spoof or not.
